Pushing Back Diplomatically in a Meeting 口语 · C1
  • 跟经理或客户在会议上意见不合时,一句 "I see your point, but I'm not sure I agree" 比直接说 "No" 更能让讨论继续下去,而不是当场僵住。
I understand the idea, but I have one concern" 把"我反对"包装成"我有一个顾虑",既表达立场又留了面子。

A:I'd like us to move the launch date up by two weeks to beat the competitor's release.
B:I see your point, but I'm not sure I agree. The QA team hasn't finished testing yet.
A:I understand the idea, but I have one concern — if we wait, we lose the market window.
B:Let's not jump to conclusions. Can I hear more about how much testing is actually left?
A:Sure. That's a good suggestion — let me look into it and confirm the real numbers tomorrow.
B:I'd appreciate it if you could do that before we commit to a new date.

I see your point, but I'm not sure I agree先承认对方逻辑,再委婉表示保留意见,语气比 "I disagree" 温和"I see your point, but I'm not sure I agree with the timeline."
I understand the idea, but I have one concern把反对意见包装成"一个顾虑",听起来更像补充而非否定"I understand the idea, but I have one concern about the budget."
Let's not jump to conclusions before we see the full report."
I'd appreciate it if you could… I'd appreciate it if you could send the data by Friday."
That's a good suggestion. Let me look into it先肯定对方,再把"暂不同意"转成"我会去核实",避免当场僵持"That's a good suggestion. Let me look into it and get back to you."
I don't think that's acceptable — we agreed on a different process."

  • "I see your point, but…"
  • "I'd appreciate it if you could…"
