- 推断过去要加 have + 过去分词，推断现在的情况就单纯多了，情态动词后面直接接原形动词。
- must 表示几乎确定（一定是），can't 表示几乎确定不是（不可能）。
- might / may / could 表示不确定但有可能，三者意思相近，may 最正式，might/could 口语更常用。
- 所有情态动词后面都接原形动词，不能再加 be 动词（不是 must is，而是 must be）。

当你几乎确定某件事是真的，用 must。
- This must be her house. I can see her car in the garage.
→ 这一定是她家，我看到她的车在车库。 - He must live near here because he always walks to work.

might / may / could — 可能（不确定）
认为某件事可能是真的，但不肯定，三个词意思相近。
- She's not here yet. She might be stuck in traffic.
→ 她还没到，可能堵车了。 - He's not answering. He could be in class.
→ 他没接电话，可能在上课。 - Some services may be delayed due to the bad weather.
→ 部分服务可能因天气延误。
may 最正式（多用于书面、官方通知），might 和 could 日常口语更常用。
can't — 十分确定（不可能）
当你几乎确定某件事不是真的，用 can't。
- It can't be far now. We've been driving for hours.
→ 不可能还很远，我们已经开了好几个小时了。 - She can't know about the complaint. She's promoted him to team leader.
→ 她不可能知道投诉的事，不然不会升他当组长。 - It can't be easy for him, looking after three kids on his own.
→ 一个人照顾三个孩子，对他来说一定不容易。
所有情态动词后面都接原形动词（infinitive without to）。
